Fast Start Training Introductory course for new Cub Scout parents and leaders

Fast Start training is designed for the new Cub Scout leader or parent. The course provides information about the Cub Scout program and gives the leader the information they need to confidently run their first meeting. The course should take only 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Even an experienced leader taking over a new responsibility will find valuable information here too.

All new leaders need to complete the "Fast-Start" training as soon as they begin their new role as an Adult Leader. This training is available on-line and is easy to use. You can go through the information at your own pace, since it is on-line, and you can do it when it fits into your schedule. You only need to complete the section related to your position with the pack (i.e., den leader, cubmaster, pack committee, etc…) but it would be beneficial to look at all of the positions to see just where everyone else fits in. There is also a video available from the Robert E. Lee Council for use in a group setting.

Each program gives leaders information on planning and conducting their first meeting, and even demonstrates one they can use. Five segments are included in both the online training and the video:

• Tiger Cub Den Leader
• Cub Scout Den Leader (Wolf & Bear)
• Webelos Den Leader
• Cubmaster
• Pack Committee
