- January Pack Meeting (09 FEB 2004)
- Our normal January pack meeting was snowed out so we rescheduled and held it on Monday, February 9th in the Lower Commons of Saint Mary's Church. In spite of the odd date, we had a great turnout. Scouts received their Pinewood Derby awards and popcorn sale prizes!
- St. Mary's Holds Scout Mass (07 FEB 2004)
- St. Mary's helped the pack kick off Scout Anniversary Week by honoring our Scouts during the 5:30pm mass on Saturday, February 7th. We had good participation from our pack and Scouts were able to fill service roles during the service. Mogsignor Irwin presided over the mass and shared his own Scouting experiences as a youth.
- Work Begins on Angelo's Trail (07 FEB 2004)
- A huge thank-you goes out to all the dedicated scouts, parents, and leaders who braved the mud and wet conditions out at the Cub Camp on Saturday to help work on our pack's Angelo's Trail project. Special thanks go out to Cimon Asselanis, Lee Branch, Greg Bresson, Bob Degenhardt, Jim Miller, Jay Wadsworth, and Dave Wu-Pong who all helped complete the beautiful raised bed structure that will hold the memorial sign at the beginning of the trail. Work on the trail itself was also begun as brush was cleared from the entranceway and debris and stumps were removed from the trail itself.
- Den 4 Visits a Fire Station (05 FEB 2004)
- The Tigers of Den 4 checked out the fire trucks and all the other neat things at Henrico Fire Station #9 during a visit on February 5th. The visit helped the scouts complete one of the "Go See It" requirements for the Tiger rank. The scouts also learned all about how a fire station operates and rules to follow to be safe around fire.
- Webelos Hike the Old Dominion Trail (31 JAN 2004)
- Ten of our first- and second-year Webelos braved frigid temperatures, icy sidewalks, and the "Seven Hills of Richmond" as they hiked the Old Dominion Trail with Boy Scouts from Troop 737. The 11-mile trail runs from St. John's Church to Maymont and includes stops at more than a dozen of Richmond's most historic sites.
- Bear Den 2 Visits NBC12 (22 JAN 2004)
- NBC and Fox News anchor Curt Autry led our scouts from Bear Den 2 on a great tour of the NBC12 studios. The scouts got an up-close look at the television studios, weather center, control room, editing, newsroom, and even got to meet Gene Cox and Ben Hamlin.
- Wolf Den 3 Practices First Aid (19 JAN 2004)
- The Wolves of Den 3 got a lesson in First Aid from Mrs. Lawson who is the nurse at Pinchbeck Elementary. The scouts learned how to put on splints and bandages as well as the proper safety precautions to take when applying first aid.
- Pinewood Derby Breaks Pack Record (17 JAN 2004)
- This year's Pinewood Derby proved it's still one of our most popular events of the year by attracting a record-breaking 106 cars which broke the previous record of 89 set in 2002.
